Present address: 410 Medical Park Drive d. 1987 San Francisco, CA Artemio Patacsil (step brother) mother's name Maria (my father's first marriage) approximately 1920's Lillia Patacsil (step sister) mother's name Maria (my father's first marriage) approximately 1920's (1999) and Mason (2005). Comment: My father, Liberato is the youngest of 5 brothers. He was known as "Atong". I met his brother when I was very young. My "Uncle Benong" (Severino Estigoy Patacsil) who was married to a very lovely Italian woman. They made their residence in the Midwest/Chicago Area. I know of an older brother that my cousin Ronald (Ron Peters) referred to as "Uncle Baldo" My cousin Ron b. 1937 (last seen 2001 in Desert Springs, CA)lived in Desert Springs, CA and I think he had a brother whom I never met. My father served in the US Navy during WWII and is was a VFW. The tip of his left index finger was missing but the navy took him anyway and trained him as a cook. He entered the navy in 1942 at Great Lakes and became a naturalized citizen after the war. He continued to work on the MSTS after the war until he married my mother in 1952. They settled down in San Francisco, CA. He worked as one of the cooks (broiler) at San Francisco's The Westin St. Francis Hotel until he retired in 1971. He loved to fish, and he loved baseball (the Dodgers and the A's)and Big Time Wrestling. My sister and I were kept isolated from dad's side of the family by my mother. For whatever reason who knows? I graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1981 and was Head Teaching Assistant and did my graduate research in cancer until 1984. I've presented papers the the American Academy for the Advancement of Science on Cadmium-Induced Metallothionein in 1983. I went to Michigan State University and earned my medical degree. I am a Board certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the ACOS. I trained in Detroit, Michigan. In 1998 I travelled to the Philippines and brought my mother on a Surgical Missionary trip with the World Mission of Central Pennsylvania headed by Dr. Domingo Alvear. We were welcomed by then President Lopez at the Malacanyan Palace. We then travelled north to Ilocos Norte via Dagupan City and Baguio. We did surgeries at Dagupan and also at Mariano Marcos Hospital in Ilocos Norte where I met Dr. Salvador. We passed through San Fernando and remember seeing Patacsil Watch Repair Shop. I also visited with some of the local docs who told me I was related to Dr. Gregorio Patacsil a cardiologist. I was at the blessing and ribbon ceremony for a new clinic in Bantoc opened up by Dr. Simon. Although I was born in America I speak and understand Ilocano and was able to function as a translator. We stopped at the beach in La Union on the way to Ilocos Norte and at I wrote in large letters "Patacsil's return home, La Union 1998" on the beach sand. When I returned I practiced General Surgery in Michigan. Along the way I was at a medical conference and my cousin Dr. Filemon Patacsil found me. It was the first time I ever met someone from my dad's side of the family except for my cousin Ronald. I soon learned and was amazed how many Patacsil's there were especially in the medical field.
